Gist Spalding's outstanding BRC accreditation
Gist Spalding has once again achieved a double A grade during its latest BRC audit for Storage and Distribution.
“We have made tremendous improvements across the depot and hope to continue with our success for future audits.” Says Steve Reid, General Manager at Gist Spalding.
The accreditation, which has been renewed for a further twelve months, verifies the site’s ability to store and distribute food safely against the BRC’s Global Standards.
The BRC was founded in 1996 to ensure a consistent approach to food safety standards across the supply chain. The BRC’s Global Standard for Storage and Distribution was introduced in 2006 to complete the chain certification which extends to the production, packaging, storage and distribution of consumer products.
Gist Spalding is the largest site within Gist’s Temperature Controlled Logistics network, which manages the transportation of food products from manufacturer into the retail network. The depot, which opened in 1992, services over 90 individual suppliers moving up to 200 loads per day into regional distribution centres for major UK supermarkets such as Marks & Spencer, Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons.
